Multiphased Q Relay IQ7 Enphase®

At the heart of Enphase IQ installations, the multiphase IQ Relay plays a crucial role as a grid monitoring and disconnection device. It is distinguished by the presence of an integrated phase coupler, enabling efficient distribution of communication signals over the power lines across different phases.

Notably, the installation of the IQ Relay (three-phase) eliminates the need for an external phase coupler. This feature simplifies system deployment, offering an integrated and efficient solution for optimal grid management.

Operation

In Enphase installations, the Q Relay acts as a physical disconnection device in case of specific grid anomalies. In the presence of voltages or frequencies outside acceptable ranges, the Q Relay automatically disconnects Enphase microinverters from the AC grid. Once conditions return to normal, the Q Relay automatically reconnects the system.

The three-phase Q Relay can be configured to monitor 1, 2, or 3 phases.

Grid disconnection management:

In the event of a grid failure, the Q Relay physically disconnects the microinverters in less than 0.2 seconds, thus interrupting solar panel production. Disconnection occurs on all conductors.

Once the public grid frequency and voltage are restored to normal conditions, the Enphase Q Relay ensures automatic reconnection of the microinverters. This resumption of production is fully automated.

Essential Integration: Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway

The Q Relay, a key element of our system, is meticulously programmed and updated using the Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway. The latter is an indispensable component for ensuring compliance with photovoltaic solar standards.

Communication between the Q Relay and the Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway is efficiently carried out using PLC (Power Line Communication) technology. This method ensures smooth communication and relevant updates, thereby enhancing the reliability of the entire system.

International Standards

This three-phase relay controller is pre-programmed for French grids and can be used to meet V/FRT and/or DCI standards in various countries requiring mechanical disconnection. It can be easily reprogrammed to adapt to the standards of each country.
