VE.Direct TX digital output cable - Victron Energy

The VE.Direct TX digital output cable is designed for use with BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT chargers. It adds several functions to them, including solar lighting, virtual load output, and energy measurement.

Lighting control

The cable is designed for lighting applications in solar power systems. It can significantly reduce energy consumption by dimming the lights when necessary. This reduction in energy consumption can lower the overall system cost and increase lighting availability, even with a partially charged battery under low sunlight conditions. The cable connects the TX output of the VE.Direct connector of an MPPT charger to the input of the LED driver's PWM dimmer.

Virtual load output

The cable is also designed to add a load output function to larger MPPT chargers (MPPT 100/30 or larger) that do not have a load output. The cable connects the TX output of the VE.Direct connector of an MPPT charger to a battery protect device or a static relay to switch a load on or off.

Energy measurement

Sends a pulse to an energy meter every time 0.01 kWh of solar energy has been generated.
