Digital Output Cable VE.Direct TX - Victron Energy The VE.Direct TX digital output cable is designed for use with BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT chargers. It adds several functions, including solar lighting, virtual charge output, and energy measurement. Lighting Management The cable is designed for lighting applications in solar energy systems. It can significantly reduce energy consumption by dimming the lighting when necessary. This reduction in energy use can lower the overall system cost and increase lighting availability, even with a partially charged battery under low sunlight conditions. The cable connects the TX output of a MPPT charger’s VE.Direct connector to the PWM dimmer input of the LED driver. Virtual Charge Output The cable is also designed to add a charge output function to larger MPPT chargers (MPPT 100/30 or higher) that do not have a charge output. The cable connects the TX output of a MPPT charger’s VE.Direct connector to a battery protection device or a static relay to activate or deactivate a load. Energy Measurement Sends a pulse to an energy meter each time 0.01 kWh of solar energy has been generated.
