Filax-2: the ultra-fast transfer switch

Filax was designed to switch sensitive or critical loads, such as computers, modern industrial or leisure control equipment, from one AC source to another.
The priority source is usually the grid, a generator or shore power. The alternative source is usually an inverter.
With a switching time of less than 20 milliseconds, sensitive loads will continue to operate without interruption.
The Filax is not intended to power high-power household appliances, such as washing machines or electric motors.

Open transition transfer

The Filax is an open transition transfer switch (BBM transfer).
The maximum load transfer time is 16 ms.
The load is usually powered by the priority source, and it is transferred to the alternative source if:

• The voltage of the priority source drops below the threshold value.
• The frequency of the priority source drops below the threshold value for low frequency, or increases above the threshold value for high frequency.

The transfer back from the alternative source to the priority source begins when the priority source has operated within the inverse voltage and frequency switching limits for 30 seconds.
