Smart BMS 12/200

The Smart BMS 12-200 is an all-in-one Battery Management System (BMS) for Victron Lithium Battery Smart 12.8V batteries, available with a nominal voltage of 12.8V in various capacities. It is the safest type of consumer lithium battery. The maximum number of batteries in a system is 20, giving a maximum energy storage of 84 kWh in a 12V system. It has been specifically designed to integrate with 12V systems that have a 12V alternator, such as those found in vehicles and boats.

Functions

Alternator and battery protection via the 'Alternator/Starter Batt+' port: Input current on the Alternator/Starter Batt+ port is electronically limited to approximately 90% of the fuse rating. A 100A fuse, for example, will therefore limit input current to approximately 90A and protect the lithium battery from excessive charge current and the alternator from overload (most 12V alternators overheat and fail if run at full power for more than 5 minutes).

Remote on/off terminal: Allows for interruption of charge via the 'Alternator' port and charge and discharge via the System+ port while keeping BMS functionality active, or as an on/off switch to completely shut down the system.

Load and charger disconnect output1): The Smart BMS 12-200 monitors and protects each battery cell and will disconnect the alternator, charge sources or DC loads in case of low/high battery cell voltage or overheating.
