Q Relay - IQ7 IQ8 - Enphase®

The Enphase IQ single-phase Q Relay is essential for photovoltaic installations, ensuring physical decoupling from the electrical grid for single-phase systems. It is designed to comply with mechanical photovoltaic disconnection standards, thus ensuring installation compliance and safety according to VDE standards.

Operation

In Enphase installations, the Q Relay acts as a physical disconnection device in case of specific grid anomalies. In the presence of voltages or frequencies outside acceptable ranges, the Q Relay automatically disconnects Enphase micro-inverters from the AC grid. Once conditions return to normal, the Q Relay automatically reconnects the system.

Grid outage management:

The Enphase Q Relay reacts quickly in case of grid failure, disconnecting micro-inverters in less than 0.2 seconds to stop solar panel production. This decoupling occurs simultaneously on the neutral and phase conductors.

Once grid frequency and voltage conditions are restored, the Q Relay automatically reconnects the micro-inverters, reactivating solar production without manual intervention.

Essential integration: Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway

The Q Relay, a key element of our system, is meticulously programmed and updated using the Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway. The latter is an indispensable component for ensuring compliance with photovoltaic solar standards.

Thanks to PLC (Power Line Communication) technology, the Q Relay and the Envoy-S Metered Web Gateway communicate effectively. This method ensures smooth exchanges and continuous updates, improving the overall reliability of the system.
