The 100A:50mA current transformer for MultiPlus-II allows the activation of PowerControl and PowerAssist functions and optimizes self-consumption with an external current sensor. It is a simple external AC current sensor, used to measure AC current, power (VA) and to calculate the energy of a PV inverter connected to the AC input or output of a Multi or Quattro.
The current transformer cable is equipped with a jack plug for easy connection to the MultiPlus-II. The clip-on system allows installation without disassembly on the conductor to be monitored.
To read the current transformer data, you need a GX device, such as a Cerbo GX, in your system.
The values measured by the current sensor can be displayed and sent to the Victron VRM portal.
PowerControl and PowerAssist enhance the capacity of the grid or a generator. It is possible to set a maximum current for the generator or grid.
The MultiPlus-II takes other AC loads into account and will only use the surplus for charging, thus avoiding any overload of the grid or generator supply (PowerControl function).
The PowerAssist function adds an extra dimension to the PowerControl principle. If a high peak power demand is often required for a short duration, the MultiPlus-II will compensate for the power shortage from the generator, shore, or grid with energy from the battery.
When the power demand decreases, the surplus power will be used to charge the batteries.
⚠️To be recognized, the metering toroid must be configured as an INTERNAL sensor on the MultiPlus II.
