3-Phase AC Upstream Protection Box 12-18kVA (32A) – Case n°1 | NF C 15-100
Obtain CONSUEL favorable opinion. Mandatory box since 09/01/2025 for CONSUEL inspections (new NF C 15-100 standard) when a generator is connected upstream of the consumption installation.
Case n°1: installation outside the main panel to ensure the protection of the existing installation.
⚡ Who is this box for?
Self-consumption PV installations with a three-phase electricity supply contract ≤ 18kVA.
New construction sites or modifications requiring a new CONSUEL.
Connection of the generator upstream of the protection devices of a terminal circuit (§ 551.7 / § 551.7.2).
⚡ How does the 12-18kVA 3-phase AC upstream box work?
- Connect the inverter output to the upstream box.
- Protect the production with a 4P 32A circuit breaker (12-18kVA at 230 V).
- Respect the rule: In_protection ≤ Ir_AGCP; size S1 at least in accordance with In_protection.
- Inject from the box to the upstream entry point of the consumption installation, without passing through a terminal circuit.
- Declare Case n°1 in your CONSUEL space on the day of the inspection.

Case n°1: independent box, outside the consumption panel.
Rating: 32A for 12-18kVA three-phase.
Compliance: In_protection ≤ Ir_AGCP; S1 ≥ section required by In_protection.

⚡ Implementation (best practices)
Place the box as close as possible to the AGCP, upstream of the main panel.
Check the Ir of the AGCP and confirm that 32A ≤ Ir_AGCP.
Size the S1 connection according to In_protection.
Prepare the technical file for Case n°1 (CONSUEL platform).
