Description

Two AC inputs with an integrated transfer switch
The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC power sources: for example, the public grid and a generator, or two generators. The Quattro will automatically connect to the active source.

Two AC outputs
The main output has an uninterrupted power supply function. In the event of a grid failure or disconnection of shore or generator power, the Quattro takes over the supply of connected loads. This transfer is so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that the operation of computers or other connected sensitive electronic equipment will not be disturbed.
The second output is only energized when AC power is available on one of the Quattro's inputs. Loads that will not discharge the battery – for example, a water heater – can be connected to this output.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation
Up to 6 Quattro units can operate in parallel. For example, six 48/10000/140 units will provide an output power of 48 kW / 60 kVA and a charging capacity of 840 A.

Three-phase configuration
Three units can be configured for a three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel to provide a power of 144 kW / 180 kVA and over 2500 A of charging capacity.

PowerControl – Adapt to generator, shore, or grid limits
The Quattro features a very powerful battery charger. It will therefore draw a large amount of current from the generator or the grid (16 A per Quattro of 5 kVA at 230 VAC). A current limit can be configured on each AC input. The Quattro will then take into account the power demand from other AC loads at the output and will only use the excess for charging, thus avoiding any overload of the grid or generator.

PowerAssist – More power from shore or generator
This function adds an extra dimension to the PowerControl principle by allowing the Quattro to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. In the event of a high peak power demand, often required for a short duration, the Quattro supplies power through the batteries to compensate for the lack of power from the grid or generator. And when the demand decreases, the excess power will be used to recharge the batteries.

Solar energy. AC power available even in the event of grid failure
The Quattro can be used both off-grid and connected to a PV grid or other alternative energy systems. Grid loss detection software is available.

System configuration

  • For standalone applications, parameters can be changed in minutes using the DIP switch configuration procedure.
  • Parallel or three-phase configuration applications can be configured with the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.
  • Self-consumption, grid-interactive, and off-grid applications involving grid-tied converters and/or MPPT solar chargers can be configured with assistants (specific software for specific applications).

On-site monitoring and control
Several options are available: battery monitor, MultiControl display panel, VE.Net Blue Power display panel, Color Control display panel, Smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), desktop or laptop computer (USB or RS232).

Remote monitoring and control
Victron Ethernet Remote, Venus GX, and Color Control display panel. Data can be stored and displayed on our free VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.

Remote configuration
If systems with a Color Control display panel are connected via Ethernet, they can be accessed and their configuration modified.
