The new style of the MultiPlus is designed to replace the old MultiPlus Compact range. It combines a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology, and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch.
When paired with a GX device (e.g., a Cerbo GX), you can monitor and control your Multi and your system or systems either locally (LAN) or remotely via the Internet through the free VRM app and the free VRM website. You can access it from a phone, tablet, laptop, or PC running on various operating systems. The level of control over your system is unlimited, whether it's for making settings on your Multi or initiating automatic startup of your backup generator, and much more...
Multifunction, with intelligent power management
The MultiPlus combines a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology, and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch in a single compact unit. In addition to these basic functions, the MultiPlus offers many advanced features described below.
Parallel and three-phase operation capability
Up to 6 Multis can operate in parallel to achieve higher output power.
In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for three-phase output.
PowerControl – Adapt to generator, shore or mains limits
The Multi Control control panel allows limiting the power supplied by the shore or generator. The MultiPlus then takes into account the AC output power demand and will only use the excess for charging, thus avoiding any overload of the shore or a generator set.
PowerAssist – More power from shore or generator
This function takes the PowerControl principle a step further by allowing the MultiPlus to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. If a high peak power demand is required for a short duration, the MultiPlus ensures that the lack of power from the mains or generator is immediately compensated by energy from the battery. And when the demand decreases, the excess power is used to recharge the batteries.
Four-stage adaptive charging and charging of two battery banks
The main output provides powerful charging to the battery system through sophisticated adaptive charging software. The software adjusts the three stages of the automatic process to suit the battery's condition, and adds a fourth for long 'Float' charging periods.
The adaptive charging process is detailed in the Phoenix Charger datasheet and on our website, in the Technical Information section. Additionally, the MultiPlus will charge a second battery using a trickle charge output intended for a starter battery or engine battery.
High starting power
Required to start loads with high inrush current such as power converters for LED lamps, halogens, or power tools.
Search Mode
If Search Mode is set to 'on', the inverter's power consumption is reduced by about 70% if no load is available. With this mode, when the Multi operates as an inverter, it is switched off in the absence of or very low load, and then switched on every two seconds for a short period. If the load current exceeds the set level, the inverter continues to operate. Otherwise, the inverter switches off again.
Programmable relay
By default, the programmable relay is configured as an alarm relay, meaning the relay is de-energized in case of an alarm or pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).
Remote On/Off / Charger On
Three-pin connector.
On-site system configuration, monitoring and control
Once installed, the MultiPlus is ready to use.
Some settings can be changed with the DIP switches.
500/800/1,200VA models: remote switch / battery charge voltage / inverter frequency / Search Mode.
1,600/2,000VA models: Battery charge voltage / Search Mode.
For more settings, use VEConfig or the VE.Bus Smart dongle
Remote configuration and supervision
Install a Cerbo GX or other GX product for Internet connection.
Operating data can be stored and displayed on our free VRM (Victron Remote
Management) website.
If systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and their configuration modified.
