The new MultiPlus style is designed to replace the old MultiPlus Compact range. It combines a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology, and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch.
When combined with a GX device (e.g. a Cerbo GX), you can monitor and control your Multi and your system or systems either locally (LAN) or remotely via the Internet from anywhere in the world via the free VRM app and the free VRM website. You can access it from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC running different operating systems. The level of control over your system is unlimited, whether it's to adjust settings on your Multi or to start your backup generator automatically, and much more...
Multifunction, with intelligent energy management
The MultiPlus combines a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology, and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch in a single compact unit. In addition to these basic functions, the MultiPlus offers many advanced features described below.
Parallel and three-phase operation capability
Up to 6 Multis can be connected in parallel to achieve higher power output.
In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for a three-phase output.
PowerControl – Adapt to generator, shore or mains limits
The Multi Control control panel allows you to limit the power supplied by the shore or generator. The MultiPlus then takes into account the AC output power demand and will only use the excess for charging, thus avoiding overloading the shore or a generator.
PowerAssist – More power from shore or generator
This function takes the PowerControl principle a step further by allowing the MultiPlus to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. If a high peak power demand is required for a short period, the MultiPlus ensures that any power deficit from the mains or generator is immediately compensated by energy from the battery. And when the demand decreases, the excess power is used to recharge the batteries.
Four-stage adaptive charging and charging of two battery banks
The main output provides powerful charging to the battery system through sophisticated adaptive charging software. The software adjusts the three stages of the automatic process to suit the battery's condition, and adds a fourth stage for long 'Float' charging periods.
The adaptive charging process is detailed in the Phoenix Charger datasheet and on our website, in the Technical Information section. In addition, the MultiPlus will charge a second battery using a compensation charge output intended for a starter battery for an engine or generator.
High starting power
Required to start loads with high inrush current such as power converters for LED lamps, halogens or power tools.
Search Mode
If Search Mode is set to 'on', the inverter's power consumption is reduced by about 70% if no load is available. With this mode, when the Multi operates in inverter mode, it is switched off in the absence of or very low load, and then switched on every two seconds for a short period. If the load current exceeds the set level, the inverter continues to operate. Otherwise, the inverter switches off again.
Programmable relay
By default, the programmable relay is configured as an alarm relay, meaning the relay is de-energized in case of an alarm or pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).
Remote On/Off / Charger On
Three-pin connector.
On-site system configuration, monitoring and control
Once installed, the MultiPlus is ready to use.
Some settings can be changed with the DIP switches.
500/800/1,200VA models: remote switch / battery charge voltage / inverter frequency / Search Mode.
1,600/2,000VA models: Battery charge voltage / Search Mode.
For more settings, use VEConfig or the VE.Bus Smart dongle
Remote configuration and supervision
Install a Cerbo GX or other GX product for Internet connection.
Operating data can be stored and displayed on our free VRM (Victron Remote
Management) website.
If systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and their configuration modified.
